Hello friends! My family of 3 are planning a charter/instruction on sailing trip to the BVI's at the first of June. We are seeking a vacation slash sailing course for 10 days. Anyone with good info or suggestions as to what charter company is good etc... please respond......Thanks in advance.....Mark...ps have spoken to conch charters and they seem pretty good but we have 0 info on them other than thier website...
If you want to tie it in with a course, contact Offshore Sailing School. They run courses on boats from The Moorings, which is a first-class operation out of Tortola. I have no commercial connection with either but am a very satisfied Offshore graduate.
+1 for Offshore Sailing School. Brought my wife there when she first learned to sail and I did the course with her. Having been away from sailing for a long time, it was a great refresher for me too. Their Fast Track to Liveaboard Cruising took her from having never sailed in her life, to being a pretty capable coastal sailor in a week. But, be advised, you are there to learn, not to snorkel. Days can be long, particularly the first couple.
We used Conch Charters in April 2010 and had a great experience. We're going again with Conch the end of January. My American Sailing Association instructor highly recommended Conch - he has chartered with them at least once a year for many years.
