in addition to being in sales I worked at the Irwin Factory in '76
I worked at the CSY factory '77-78
I commissioned and delivered to the VI's new Endeavors '78-79
I was a Charter captain in the VIs 1980 on morgan 41's and 46's
I totally refit my M35 then sailed 5 years in the Bahamas and Caribbean on it...
The amount of ignorance and BS on most of these forums really is quite astounding...
I could go on with my resume...if you haven't been offshore an appreciable amount of time, if you haven't slept aboard outside of a marina an appreciable amount of time, if you haven't worked in or hung around a boat yard for a year or 2
or lots of other boat stuff....well you get the idea.....you don't know much..i'm SURE ALL THE faCTS I've LISTED DONT ACCOUNT FOR MUCH....bash on so knowledge ones....b.....
Lets see if I have this straight - you have a lot of experience with other boats and you read something about Hunters screwing the decks on a Cherubini model.

So now you know more about Hunters than their owners do.

Oh, by the way, excluding the CSY's, back in the day all those boats had similar trash talk directed at them as Hunters currently do - particularly those Morgans. To hear it back then, merely stepping aboard an OI 41 was life threatening.

Oh - and here is the joint from the actual 1980 Cherubini manual...

It appears you have no idea what you're talking about. But don't stop. It's fun to watch the flames.

BTW - my Hunter's hull/deck is sealed with 5200 and through bolted every 6" AND I can even get to the bolts if I needed to.
My pre-'87 (1984) Hunter's deck is adhesive sealed and bolted full length, sandwiched between the hull flange and the alloy holey rail. I never measured the bolt spacing but it's whatever the spacing is on holey rail - 4" I would guess.

The same as C&C, CS, and all the other "quality" builders who used holey rail back then.

From what I have seen of boat salesmen over the past 45 years I wouldn't place a lot of faith in anything most of them had to say about technical or build quality.

Well, maybe that guy that had "Love" & "Hate" tattooed on his knuckles. (really)
