FSMike We have a similar problem. Talked to one of the local waterborne police about the idea of putting up our own "Manatee Zone - No Wake - 5mph" signs. The sympathetic gendarme said that while he couldn't give out any tickets, he wouldn't make us take down the signs.

sailor50 I'd approach the elected officials at City Hall and take lots of video and ask them what were they thinking of when they changed the designation.

oceanscapt Buy an inflatable manatee and float it just below the surface. Folks'll slow down.

sailingdog Yeah, but wrapping a line around the prop once or twice would probably cause them to slow WAY, WAY down....don'tcha think?

no wake signage

I live on the Okeechobee waterway, Stuart, Fl...Last year the speed regulation signage changed from No Wake Manatee Zone to 25mph in marked channel. We rent dockage to local boaters and are usually pretty full, our neighbors do the same, and in all there is a concentration of about 30-35boats in a 500ft stretch of the waterway. The large sport fishing, and Motoryachts, slow down, but the 25' to 40' boats seem to slow down to 12-15knots and send rollers into the docks.

Any Ideas??????
