Anyone take out a couple newbies?

Hi PNW sailors,

I was hoping I could find somebody willing to take a couple newbies from Texas out for a day sail somewhere in the Seattle to Portland area. My girlfriend and I will be in that area from July 13th-23rd and would love to get out on the water.

I have big boat sailing experience from a program I did in college sailing a 125ft brigantine rigged schooner in the Caribbean doing scientific sampling and visiting the islands. Other then that my only other sailing experience has been lake sailing here in Texas on flat boats and a couple race catamarans. My girlfriend has never sailed but after hearing me rant and rave for a couple years about how much fun being under sail is she wants to give it a try.

We could provide dinner and a bottle of wine or other compensation of your choosing. Just looking for something a little less commercial then the day sail charters out of Seattle. If anyone is interested post a reply or shoot me a pm.

Thank you,
Barret

Hey Qben, thanks for the offer, unfortunately we aren't going to have a car for the three days we are going to be in Seattle, so unless there is an affordable public transit option I don't think we can make it up there. It looks like a beautiful area though.

You might try windworks sailing, or Seattle sailing at shilshole in north seattle. San point sailing on Lk washington might be another, altho they have dingy types vs the other two have mid 20 and up boats Seattle sailing has mostly J's, as they are part of sailboats NW witch is the J-boat dealer. WIndworks has a mixture of boat available, sometimes with a skipper.
