|jackdale||Bill Crealock designed his boats with deck stepped (tabernacle) masts as does Kai Gustafson of Nauticat fame. These masts were not meant to be lowered under bridges. A well designed deck stepped mast has great integrity.|

IMHO, the only reason to purchase a boat w/t-mast, is if you are gonna be slipped somewhere that you have to go under a bridge, and need to lower the mast.
By any chance you looking at Mercy Mercy in Wilmington, CA?
If yes, probably a little room to negotiate on the price.

Tabernacle Mast - Pros/Cons
Hi there, in the market for a Cat 400. I found one with a tabernacle mast...should I be worried about anything? Specifically, will it be stronger or weaker than a keel stepped mast, and will it effect resale value either way?
