WouldaShoulda We enjoyed our trip Saturday.

Finally got aboard the Woodwind for a brief cruise.

The Captain sailed it right through the mooring field coming and going.

That was something!!

The Roast Beef at the Fleet Reserve was good as ever...

swampcreek We went yesterday. Lots of nice boats, as usual the people are a little wierd. We went to look, plan and dream. Bought a custom hat with my boats name embroided on it...should have got a few. The sales people were mostly pretty friendly with a few snobs thrown in here and there, the salesman on the 59' Hayalis looked absoulutly miserable, he didn't make a peep when we boarded. The most friendly sales people were the Hunter, Catalina, Benateau types. Seaward has a 30' trailerable that is out of this world, but at close to $200,000 it's a bit pricey. It's great to look and even one day buy a new one, my wife really liked the Catalina's in the mid 30's. I liked them all!

There was one boat I should have bought, they had 8' inflatables for around $750.

Perfect weather. Next year I'm thinking about sailing down and mooring or anchoring so we can party and not have to worry about driving home. I saw mooring bouys out in the harbor but know nothing of them...Another learning opportunuty.

BoxedUp Driving down Friday night, attending show on Saturday. Looking to see how desperate the manufacturers are to make a sale.

Thanx Dave - I knew they gave discounts if your hat blew off your head, but in this case it was blown overboard purely through carelessness on our parts (and one too many rum drinks) so I wasn't sure the guarantee applied.

chef2sail, we may see you if you are there Monday. We have a "Strong Track" and I do love it. Makes pulling up the main a breeze. Does require the cars on the sail but really makes an easy system. We upgraded to that system when we had our new Main (and staysail) made by Ulhman/Skelley loft out of Havre de Grace. Nice folks and good service. Also gave us the best price. I may have just bastardized their name. Guess I should have looked in Spin Sheet before I wrote this...

I will be looking for new foul weather gear for my sweetie. I think he will be scanning over the electronics that our vessel has never had.

Got my fingers crossed for dry weather. We will hit Weems and Plath first to get some items repaired then we hope to find reasonable parking within a mile of the show.

Happy hunting!!
