PCP No, it is only necessary to pass the three capes: Good Hope, Leeuwin and Horn and return to the same point.

Trilogy77 When it comes to breaking the round the world speed record, is there a standard city anyone making the attempt has to start at?

PCP
Banque Populaire is going to try to beat the World's circumnavigation record:

This record belongs to Franck Camas and Groupama 3 and Banque Populaire V is the only sail boat that has a chance to beat that record. Pascal Bidégorry is the skipper (with his crew) that is going to try it.

He is one of the great French sailors (as Cammas). He won a Solitaire du Figaro, won a Transat Jacques Fabre and was the ORMA (60ft cats) world Champion.

Last year he had beaten the North Atlantic sailing record, from New-York to Cap Lizard doing an incredible time: 3Days 15h 25min 48s.

Look at the way they sail the boat and that time will seem not so incredible. What would seem really incredible is the way they sail that huge trimaran

YouTube - Maxi Tri Banque Populaire V at Very High Speed!

They are waiting for the right weather to leave.

Take a look at the boat:

Paulo
