labatt Yeah - I was hoping to continue the conversation but either he stopped the scam since it was getting stale or they shut down his e-mail address on Yahoo.

JimMcGee Labatt,
Type "scam the scammers" into Google. Evidently there are a lot of folks who've decided to play with these guys. Some are quite creative.

Mimsy BTW- my mother in law got the same email supposedly from a friend of hers. As she lives in the UK and is not the most street savvy, she was quite concerned. Fortunately she asked us before she wired money. Her friend was just fine and doing well in her home in Edinburgh.

This is the new Nigerian Royalty scam...

Nice to see you again Chris! I hope your family is doing well.

Mimsy I knew it wasn't from Cam. Cam wouldn't cry...

mccary I participate in the International Catalina 27/270 association's email list. Today we got exactly the same email (different name). Looks like this guy is a sailor look to suck cash from fellow sailors.

Brad, I like the way you think.

How about we take him for a nice sail, out to international waters?

Cam/George, sorry to hear about this. If there's anything we can do on this end be sure to let us know.

Are you staying at your hotel? Perhaps I can send the money there? You've really helped me out a lot and I hate to hear about what's going on. Call me from the hotel later. What about PayPal? And what am I supposed to tell jackie about the address?

Also, I think I know someone at the American Embassy there. I can contact them if you'd like.

My guess is I won't hear back until tomorrow when he can get back to the Internet cafe.
