T34C I have hot water too, both AC and via engine. I can't remember where mine T's off, but I believe it is just before the heat exchanger so the hot water flows thru water heater first then back to engine and thru the exchanger.

Thanks Courtney

I appreciate the quick response. I did have one other question.

I have a hot water heater that runs on off the AC panel. It has connections for hooking it up to the motor coolant system. (Universal/Westerbeke 25 hp) My question is where is the best location for this connection?

Thanks again,
Drew

T34C My boat had the pin/stuffing box replaced already when I purchased her and has not had an issue since. I have rebuilt the CB winch and replaced the cable and adjusted the control arm. I would suspect that you would either have to remove, or at least loosen the control arm to be able to get at the packing material. The control arm should have a set screw/bolt at the bottom that holds it tight on the pivot pin. loosening that set screw should at least allow you to move the control arm enough to get in there. I would definitely go ahead and replace the packing material since the port is already open and you have access. It'll be far easier to do it now that than to have to open it back up again later.

I don't know if that was any help, but I'd be happy to answer any other question that come up.

T34c Centerboard Stuffing Box

I recently purchased a T34c and have her in the yard right now. The inspection port for the centerboard hub is open. The stuffing box does not leak, and the board goes all the way up, although the cables need to be tightened a bit. The area has been opened before and the last owner said that the stuffing box did leak a bit on him a year ago or so, but he tightened it 1/2 a turn and it stopped. Should I replace the packing material now? Does one have to remove the control lever to get to the packing material? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
