Re: iPhone/iPad Weather Apps

Hi
No doubt about it, weather4d is really the best app to read grib chart ever.
A bit expensive but really convenient. Just google it.

Re: iPhone/iPad Weather Apps

We use an iPhone app named Dark Sky. It is not really a forecast site... it detects your location and will give a 1-hour preciptation look-ahead (with animated radar). It is designed for boaters, golfers, etc. to get an idea of what is coming your way within the hour (and to get a sense if weather you may see in the distance will hit or miss you).

We have found it to be highly accurate and useful... very much worth its $3 (I think) price.

I use SailFlow. It's free, relatively easy to use, and very accurate.

Re: iPhone/iPad Weather Apps

I sail inland lakes. I use The Weather Channel (decent for 10-day forecasts), RadarUS+ (great for different radar views), and WindAlert (best for viewing current wind conditions at different stations, and great for predicting hourly wind speeds).

SwimmingPool Yes, a grib Data reader would definitely be nice!

I just found a few apps:
buoyweather maritime app
boatingweatherapp or
weather365 yachting app

Do you guys have any experience with those?

jackdale I use the browser to access weather on an Android:
- Environment Canada
- NOAA weatherfax
- Sailflow
- etc..

A grib file reader would be cool.
