A quick aside about pedal bikes being green... It turns out bicycling isn't as green as we think. The amount of food you need to eat to generate those calories has a cost. You need to account for the fuel that went into growing the plants, transporting them, etc. If you are a meat eater (mmmm, steak), then you need to do all the previous calculations and add in the addition time for that animal to convert those plants to delicious meat, and then the cost to slaughter and transport.
Here is a quick link: The REAL Carbon Footprint of Bicycles | The Worst Thing in the World , there are others.
That said, it's better than taking the car, and you get healthy from it. But it is worthwhile to consider the whole supply chain when we bring up "being green".

They call it the Yike Bike because when you see the sticker price of $3595 USD you'll say YIKES!
Think I'll walk.

|messer999||Of course it would end up saving me money if I required the First Mate to use it for shopping trips ;-)|

|Allanbc||A $50 (possibly stolen) bike off Craigslist sounds much cheaper.|

Great, another suposedly "green" alternative to cars. I love how so many people think electric is green because it does not burn fossil fuels. Where does the electricity really come from? Aliens?
If you want to be green and get around, use a pedal bike. It is cheap, can be stowed and anyone in good enough shape to be sailing can pedal a bike. And if it is ugly enough, no one will want to steal it!
