My apologies I 've been carried away by other immediate needs such as painting the mast, new rigging (short of a inch or so) and more.
The netbook RF interference has been shoved back to n- or so position but I won't fail to follow up.

the netbook charger/power adapter is producing it. these devices are notoriously noisy.
you can look for an aftermarket one, and see if any other one is better but chances are not good.

Netbook RF interference solved?
Scud did you solve the netbook rf interference problem? I am wondering if it was the ac/dc and dc/dc external power supplies rf getting back into the ac wiring and radiating or if it was rf from the netbook's internal battery charging circuitry.
If you still have the problem try removing the netbook's battery and just run off of the external power supply.

|frankdrebin||Snap on ferrite beads for the power lines. You can add a filter to the speaker lines. Big difference between HF and audio frequencies. Look up audio filers and TVI filters in reference to Amateur radio.|

netbook RF interference
I've got one of those little ASUS IEEE netbooks. It works fine for my purpose but since I use it to control my SSB (ICOM M710-RT) I noticed that when I plug it in either to AC or DC then my SSB starts picking up quite some noise (even in the case the netbook is not wired to the radio at all).
I even tried to power it with a DC plug using a totally separate battery bank but I keep picking up the same noise which is not there when I run it on its internall battery only.
It must be the AC transformer (when I charge it from AC) or the DC converter when I plug it into the lighter socket. When the power cord is not connected to the netbook the radio picks up no RF noise but I would think it stands to reason since neither transformer/converter have any load connected.
As soon as I plug it in into the netbook then there it is!
Any idea? Also the stereo is picking up some of the noise.
How can I try to reduce it?
