Since this thread is quite old....does DRMarine still have many Pearson parts?

Actually, the glass isn't curved, the frame bends the glass to shape. When you remove the glass from the frame it will be flat. It's not hard to get replacements made, just be sure to get tempered glass or it will break when you put it back into the frame.

Your solution is at hand.... the window's rubber gasketing is probably 'shot' and needs to be replaced. go to drmarine.com, go to "pearson parts". D&R Marine is about the only place left on the planet which has a large stock of 'pearson parts' ... including your probably worn out 'rudder shaft bearings', etc.
Screwing around with silicone, caulk, etc. on a Pearson window is a PITA that will remedy nothing. Remove the window, disassemble and reassemble with the new gasket. If your 'mechanics expertise' is on the short side, take the frame and new gasket to a commercial glass supply .... they do such gasket replacement all the time.

The large portlights in the main salon are a royal pain to replace/repair. The glass is curved to match the sides of the cabin top so it is difficult to find a drop in replacement. The frame is pretty cheap and will bed easily when removed. Especially if a PO got a little crazy with the sealant to try and stop leaks.
My plan for this fall is to try and remove the entire portlight without damaging the frame and replace the glazing around the glass. Then I will rebed the frame with Butyl tape.
For a short term fix I have had good luck with using the blue painters tape to cover the frame to cabin joint and to cover the exterior glazing. It is not pretty but it will buy you some time while trying to find parts or come up with a permanent solution. I suggest changing the tape every few weeks.

P-30 window leak
I know I've seen these posts many times in the past but.............
Do I remember that Catalina or maybe Cal had the same fixed windows in the main salon and had a leak repair kit available ?
Does anyone have the link or more info on how to stop a very persistent water leak ?
