Nodlew Hi again, The 30k would be an entry amount. I expect 10-15k in repairs.
and the 30k isnt in stone.
I do have a 40# dog an 4 parakeets. On occasion there would be kids

joeybkcmo think you might find something in that range, but it may need a bit of work, here is a link to an O'day 36 CC, would have lots of room, and in the 30K range

LauderBoy Any reason you want a 40ft boat? Is it just you, you and the Mrs, any kid coming along, pets?

I ask because 30k for 40ft is stretching it. I'm sure there are some boats out there, but I'd bet they all need some decent work. On the other hand if you could see yourself going down to 34ft or so, 30k will go quite a bit more. I'd think something like a decent Catalina 34 would be right in that price point and would probably make a very comfy live aboard. Or a Morgan 33 OI would generally sell for mid 20's and is a very spacious boat.

Coast Cruiser

Ive been reading these forums off an on for 7 years. Been retired for 2.
Ive seen the list for Blue water. But Im looking for a light air, coastal cruiser,
live aboard. My intended area would be from Padre Island to FL in short hopps. Around 40` and around 30k. As since its been years since Ive gone out ( 30 actually ) I would be docked mostly while developing skills (especially as It would be solo ).
