Beneteau 343 prop walk direction

This is probably a simple answer, but I seem to be finding conflicting info online.

I am chartering a Beneteau 343 and, in the process of being nervous about maneuvering in tight quarters, and trying to verify which way the prop walk is going to affect me going astern.

My impression was that it was a left-hand prop, but most everything else I read indicates that the boat walks to port when in reverse, which would indicate it is a right hand prop.

Can anyone clarify, or simply tell me which way I should expect this boat to walk when in reverse?

Thanks in advance,

-- Bass

Are all 343s powered with the same engine and gear? If you can find out the engine/gear combination then you should be able to confirm LH vs RH prop... as you say, RH will walk to port in reverse...

While tied to the dock put it in reverse and look over the side, if most of the wash is on starboard side it will propwalk to port and vice-versa. There is enough difference that you won't have trouble distinguishing. I'd bet it's righthanded, I haven't seen a left handed prop on a boat from the Big 3 in a long time.

At the dock, tied up, bump in reverse and you'll feel the prop walk direction immediately. Forward is the opposite. When you take it out motoring, just fiddle around... make some tight circles, straightline, coast, then reverse to see how long it takes the prop to bite. The biggest thing is to just relax. You'll figure it out in short order.
