sethg688 That sounds a lot like what I'm going for - do you have a plan in place? I'm looking to do a live aboard ASA certification course by the end of July - probably with the Blue Water Sailing School in Ft. Lauderdale.

cbtucker think i saw an email saying there was a post about what my dream was.. well it's not being in Ohio! I want to liveaboard, simply, and in warm water somewhere! Should be easy right?

cbtucker Welcome to the Sailnet community. You'll find lots of helpful people on here. Not me of course as I'm just in the dreaming stage at the moment. Good luck on pursuing the dream!

Ready to sail

Hi Everybody,

Saved up some money and quit the computer consulting job in order to pursue a long-time fantasy of travel/exploration via sailboat. I have day-sailing experience in small boats on Lake Michigan thanks to a club in Chicago, but I'm looking to try out the full-on live-aboard sailing lifestyle. Don't own a boat yet, but probably will eventually if I get hooked.

I'm going to start up with a live-aboard certification course to get up to speed with bigger craft, navigation, etc. Looking for networking opportunities and to meet like-minded folks with similar goals - maybe we can team up.

My dream sailing experience would be island-hopping in the South Pacific. I'm also interested in square-rigged tall ships - that seems like it would be an amazing experience and great learning opportunity.

Anyway, I'll see you out there in a bit!
