I just followed the Awlgrip guide and used the Redtree foam rollers from the guide
I have sprayed also and the stuff is just to dangerous in a DIY environment
Will the spray be better NOT with me driving and i spray smaller stuff like bicycles PERFECT it just does NOT scale up to something huge like topsides

|patrscoe||I checked out your blog. Wow, you did a lot of work on your Cal. All looks great. What was your procedure for tip & roll? For what I read, people say that tip and roll leaves roller marks and does not come out very smooth and glossy.|

Just roll&tip i have all the spray equipment BUT you really need a forced air respirator to work with the Awlgrip
Its a combo art/science project as small changes in temperature and humidity require tuning the mix to get a good result when working outdoors
I primed in the fall of 2010 and ran out of weather and had to wait till may of 2011 to get a window of weather with NO overnight dew which kills the gloss of the paint
I sprayed the 545 primer on my fully tented boat as it is fairly safe compared to the Awlgrip

HVLP or Convential paint sprayer, & other paint equipment of choice
I am starting to plan and prepare for many fall and winter projects and one is to paint the topside / hull. I have decided to take on the project myself and would like to start purchasing and planning now.
Some advice I have received is that Alwgrip does not go on well with a HVLP sprayer.
I have a good size compressor and looking to purchase a paint gun kit, perhaps a conventional sprayer Devilbiss 670GFG with two to three tips. (based on some additional advise)
Any advise on techniques, equipment and type of respirator, what paint is better (Alwgrip or Interlux), etc... and tricks of the trade... any information would be helpful to reduce the learning curve.
