Okay I think I was successful
When I tried before yahoo said I could sign in with my google account , so I'd do that and then get led a merry chase through this evil loop which fed back upon itself..Aiiie!
I finally gave up and made a new Yahoo account and went through the submission process under the dubious name Gwydion Farseer

I'll try again, my comment about yahoos was in jest
It seems to be yahoo that's the problem, I seem to get caught in this strange loop
And I'm actually reasonably handy with computers

I wonder if one could measure from the halyard
I was curious if that was a fixed gooseneck for the boom or is it adjustable in the sailtrack ?

|PaulfromNWOnt||I could get an exact length, but it would have to wait until we drop it this fall.|

Thanks a lot for the fine photos!
gives me an idea of the mast diameter as well
Any chance of asking nyour friend the actual length of his mast?

Here's a couple of pictures from a friend's Nordica 16. I can't say if everything is factory, but I'm guessing that there haven't been many changes since new.
If you need any others, just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Hi Brian well
I don't think it would be a watertight cap, more of a solid base, all the boats I've had so far FJ, Mutineer, Crown 18(litte cal 20) have all had some sort of fitting on the bottom of the mast
In the latter 2 a built in plate with a hinge type arrangement for stepping the mast (THe FJ was a drop in but it had a fitting too)
I've never actually seen an open ended bare pipe bottom to a mast before

|mitiempo||You don't want to cap the base of the mast - the water that gets in has to be able to run out.|

Thanks a lot
I'd really appreciate that.
I might put a base on it anyway as it wouldn't be too much work
It's definitely not the original mast though it could be the same dimensions
Hope to get her in the water next week...wheeee
