It's kind of a vertical space, but a decent size. Directly under the cockpit sole seems like a good spot for a rectangular tank.

Check out this site. I sailed with this guy - it's a nice boat and a nice guy.

I also just bought a Ranger 33. I bought it at Lake Mead and went through the hassle of shipping it to San Diego. The cost of shipping and necessary upgrades exceeded the cost of the boat, but the final product is going to suit me well.
The boat only has a Porta-Potty, and the remnants of and old macerator system. I want to put in a real head with Y-valve and holding tank, but can't figure out where to put everything. One of the other R-33s I looked at had a flexible holding tank in the forward salon lower compartment port side, but the thing sat over the speed and depth transducers, making them inaccessible. That to me is unsat.

|DamonVT||Hi, I've had my 33 for about a year and am not aware of a 33 group, but there is an active Ranger facebook group: Log In | Facebook and there is a list of boats/owners at http://www.members.dca.net/pwink/ranger/rangers.htm|

Ranger 33, Ahoy there
Just bought the 1977 Ranger 33 named "Vinmar". Brought her up from San Diego to Monterey Bay the end of May. She's a mighty fine boat and has far exceeded my expectations in sailing ability in very heavy weather, light air, pointing, strength and durability.
So--- I'm hoping to communicate with other Ranger 33 owners out there. Haven't been able to find a Ranger 33 group/association. How bout it? Any info?
The name Vinmar, is an abreviation of past owners names, and I will be having a proper ceremony for a name change to appease the Gods. The new name will be "Queserum" as in Que sera sera.
