aa3jy Took a motorcycle trip up to the Finger Lakes this past weekend on Rt 15(above Harrisburg) which follows the Susquehanna River for about 40 or so miles. What I saw was a lot of water still flow'n! One could still see a few of the mid channel islands still under water. It will be awhile for the water to subside on the Bay...

wingNwing Yeah, we dodged the occasional log all the way from Annapolis to Solomons. Going to make it a longer slower trip down the Bay this year. We're planning 40-mile days, and not going when wind makes it too difficult to see the "stuff" in the waves.

aa3jy Coming back from the Bay via Bacons in Annapolis we took Rt 1..Leslie wanted to save a couple of bucks in tolls..thus crossed the Conowingo Dam. Wow! the plume of water is still flowing...

Any Updates

I was out in sailing in the bay from Back Creek, Eastport last Tuesday (9/13) and found that I would have been much happier just staying at the dock. The lines of debris forced us to tack multiple times, and made the short sail to Thomas Point a longer trip.

I was hoping maybe someone has been out recently by the Bay Bridge/Thomas Point and had something better to report.

aa3jy They don't call logs in the water as "Deadheads" for nothing..

Dead Head Log in th water - The Hull Truth - Boating and Fishing Forum

When I was traveling on my bike along the Washington and Oregon coast last summer..there where a number of sign posts giving warning to 'Dead Heads'...which happens to be a common cause of death to those venturing out in the Pacific surf.

Wow - that satellite photo says it all. We had a lot of logs in between boats at our marina this past weekend. Now I know why!

We just returned from Jamaica Sunday, after sailing and snorkeling in those clean clear waters we decided totake our boat out and see how bad the bay is.....I've never seen it so terrible.

chef2sail A few ofus Sailnetters rafted up in Eagles Nest in the Magothy Saturday evening. The trip down and back was a white knuckle one with constant dodging of logs, propane canisters, toliets, dead animal and tons of debris.
