sailingdog Also depends on where you want to sail the boat. In the Florida Keys and the ICW, the keel/CB option may prove very useful. In other places, the fin keel may provide the best sailing performance.

Gene T I would think it would depend on whether performance is worth the extra maintenance to you.

The new Tartan 3400 offers a keel/centerboard option, along with a Fin (too deep) and a beaver tail (most common) - what would be the preference and why?
