I made a drawing of our keel. The measurements are in millimeters. I also have an old photo of the pickup mechanism. Good luck.

Re: replacing swing keel winch

when i got my boat the swing keel had a piece of line on the winch to pull the keel up . i plan on replacing it with stainless steel wire .
how are you all attaching it to the swing keel have not gotten a look at the swing keel from the bottom yet

garyguss I replaced mine with a braking winch from Northern Tool, it will hold a position when released and I think it might be easier on the swing keel if you happen to let go of it

replacing swing keel winch

one side of my winch the flange was completely missing . went to several places trying to find a winch not made in china . no such luck did find a attwood 1200 lb trailer winch with a nylon strap at chinamart .

take out two bolts and the nylon strap slips right off the flange on the drum . everything looks like it will line up fine just have to drill one new mounting hole.
