aeventyr60 Great coffee in Malaysia, from Sumatra. Keep sailing West, the coffee gets better as you go.

The best coffee I have ever found was mountain biking in Chiang Mai. I purchased the beans from the grower/roaster up in the hills. I stuffed two bags in my back and forgot about them till I got home. Then, mistakenly gave one bag away before I tried it

Even more off topic, but still coffee... This stuff is great; Cafe Mami

Controlled Jibe Thanks Mike, we'll definitely seek out Cafe Exquisito when we get there.

mikefossl In Lapaz, I can recommend Cafe Exquisito on the Malacon right next to the Kettle Corn place south of Banuelos. They have excellent fresh whole bean coffee. In Mazatlan the best place we found was all the way at the end of Sábalo Cerritos, North from Marina Mazatlan. There is a small strip mall with a coffee shop that roasts coffee on site. It was excellent and we stocked up with 8 kilos which lasted us all the way to Japan.

Kinda preachy for someone with a grand total of 15 posts, no? Staying on topic is nice, but blj was having a little fun with your "typical turista" sort of question. Besides, blj's posts weren't really all that off-topic. I mean, it's not like he tried to segue the thread into convincing you you to switch to green tea, or a composting head, or a multihull, or a different NFL team...How about them 'Niners, BTW?.

Face it, InterNet forum-types are often easily distracted....Squirrel!!!

joeybkcmo San Carlos, 2 coffee shops, both sell coffee. Know of one in Guaymas, would not think that coffee would be that hard to find

bljones I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was supposed to take such a lightweight, silly, inconsequential, first-world-problem question so seriously, or that the question was being posed by one who took his lightweight, silly, inconsequential, first-world-problem question so seriously.

Lighten up, Francis. It's coffee.

Controlled Jibe I do, however, like the manual grinder idea. Keep ideas like that one coming.
