I would also like to rent.

I will be in Los Angeles for about two months and I would like to rent a live aboard. Any information would be appreciated.

sailingdog I don't know of many that would be willing to rent out their boat, unless it was a business...there are too many problems with doing that in terms of insurance, liability, etc. I doubt most charter companies would do this as weekly charters are probably a lot more profitable.

What are the logistics to renting a live aboard boat (as far as insurance, costs, etc)? Do many people even rent out their boats for several months? If so, where would be a good place to start looking? I'd be looking for a boat in Sacramento, CA.
