OK, so who covers the dinghy and outboard motor..Home owners or the boat rider...?

I have liabilty in case I cause someone damage, but no comp on my boat...but I would like coverage if someone steals my dinghy or outboard...(at the marina)

That is true but you cannot get homeowners without a house. Renters insurance will also cover items outside the home.

Not really. You can get a rider for personal effects on your boat but usually only covers those items on the boat. It is very difficult to get the personal items in your car covered. Every insurance company I have spoken to says those items are covered under homeowners or renters. I say I live aboard and have a yacht policy and they say sorry.

I was able to get coverage for personal items in our storage unit for an additional charge.

Our yacht policy also covers boat items in storage or in the car in transit to and from storage.

No way to get a rider for expensive jewelry or artwork that I have found.

I would like to insure my bikes but the only insurance for bikes in the US is from homeowners or renters. I think other countries offer bike insurance but not here.

Insuring my stuff.

Does your boat insurance cover your personal possessions too, like homeowners does, or is it boat only? If you don't insure your boat, can you get some kind of personal property/homeowners/renters type insurance for your stuff? Do you even have enough to worry about insuring?
