halyardz If you are looking for a Flordia Keys guide, you might try Young & Stinemetz’s Cruising the Florida Keys (2nd edition), I believe it is a relatively recent release and along with other guides, they have good website with updates

I have also planned on the Keys trip but I am still waiting for retirement. However the wife and I drove the keys this summer and I have done a lot of research.

Try this link:

Check out the reality check and the sample navigation guide. I found all of it interesting and seemed to be right on the money as far as I could see driving down. We loved Key West and the sunset sails were very good. I plan on going back (and a lot of other places) when we do not have a schedule anymore.

That should just about cover it.

camaraderie Gary...try this link:

This one is also excellent for the "inside" route and anchorages:

stylesupportmidi I'll give it a look.
BTW: Where did you find the 2007 edition. West Marine only has the 2006 ??????

ebs001 Styles... I just bought Dozier's Waterway Guide, Southern 2007 addition. Camaraderie above endorses it as well.

camaraderie Sab30...
We did not stop at many marinas along the way as our draft was limiting but can tell you that there is a good harbor with town run moorings in Boot Keyand they have a dinghy dock/etc. and are a short walk to provisioning and restaurants. Suggest the Waterway Guide Southern edition will give you the lowdown on all the choices available for your draft! Have fun!

Vasco hellosailor,

If you're looking for company crossing the stream from Miami most people, who have not buddied up yet, just give a call on channel 16. Late December, early January there's tons of boats anchored in the Miami area ( South Beach to No Name Harbour) waiting for a window.

hellosailor sab, you might also post a note, or leave word, at the local West Marine (etc) and at the local docks. There *will* be others heading across, and asking the same question, and running into the chandleries to pick up the usual last minute stuff.
