Yofy Over here when the summer heat sets in and the sea is so calm that you can see the mountains' reflection, then nothing beats Arak. It's a local anise flavoured drink something like Ouzo in Greece or Pastis in France. Just about every mediterranean country has their own brew. It took me a fair time to get a taste, but now Arak is a favourite.

Refrigerate bottle and pour into glass and serve with cold water. You can dilute to taste... but it is a good idea to dilute me

uspirate just a quick note. Kerns and Sobe products make for some excellent mixers, use the thick texture juices

captmike84 Personally my favorites are:
Mount gay and tonic with lime or key lime (when I can find it)
dark and stormy
cape cod daquiri - cranberry juice and a dash of pineapple juice with rum of your choice, blend with ice and maybe sugar and serve with lime

USCGRET1990 As far as rum goes. Capt. Morgans Spiced is tops in Carribean drinks!

Kimandray Hello,
We found some really cheap pineapple and mango can drinks... made with real pineapple and mango juices.... got them at Wal-mart.... mix them with rum... meyers of course.... add ice and voila.... yum!!!! If you are lucky enough to have a blender on board... even better.... if you have kids.... leave out the alcohol and they can enjoy it also.... The juices are in cans and store well under our settee... they last forever and don't have to be kept cold.... I still prefer wine and we got a great deal on it by the case.... pinot noir is my favorite.... we keep Barbancourt rum on hand for fellow cruisers... maybe we'll run into you in the caribbean...
