Re: 40' Islander Peterson 1982

My shaft also turned out to be 1 inch - put a FlexoFold 2 bladed 18x15x1 on it with the VolvoPenta D2-40 on re-power this year.

Replaced an old martec folder

Re: 40' Islander Peterson 1982

I guess I have not been a member long enough to access PMs

On the subject of shafts and props, my boat has the original pathfinder engine. The shaft, which I replaced according to the dimensions given in the owner's manual is 1" diameter, with an overall length of 49.25" the original prop is a solid 2 blade, 20" x 14" RH.

Re: 40' Islander Peterson 1982

pics would be great, but I have a 30' Jeanneau, not the same as your boat!

I'm thinking doug put a 45-50 gal tank in where his was or some such thing. He did get a bit more. with my 16hp motor, .5-.75 gal/hr useage, a bit more than 5-6 hrs of use before wondering if a wave or equal will cause the motor to sputter etc would be nice, hence the 15 or so gals would be nice, even 12 would be better! I've down a few 6-10 hr trips, filling with a 5 gal jug in th emiddle is not fun.
