You'd have to be a complete idiot to complain about that equipment damaging the environment - the sand would be smooth again after one tide change.

The vid sure was an object lesson in why one doesn't want to get themselves beached in a big boat though.

Very cool video. The heavy equipment operators really seemed to know what they were doing. I was surprised at the tow dinghies running in reverse rather than in forward with a tow bridle. The guy tugging on the halyard to heel the boat didn't seem very effective.

All in all a great exercise and definitely a better performance than VA Bch offered. It would be interesting to compare funds expenditure.

I would say a 12 pack and a pack of smokes. Oh and the good nature of man to help someone in trouble.
