My wife and I are attending a wedding in Newport this summer and are looking for a boat to sleep on. Friday 7/13 and Saturday 7/14. It's kind of a shot in the dark but I was wondering if anyone knew of a service or avenue through which these things are booked, or if anyone is willing to rent the space to us? We're not weird, messy, or disrespectful and won't go joyriding or anything like that. We simply need an inexpensive place to rest our heads that weekend. It's kind of hard to find that in Newport.

You could contact Oldport Marine (the water taxi / launch service, Oldport Marine / Newport, RI) and ask if they could post a notice for you -- a lot of boats in Newport use their launch service. You might also try contacting the Seamen's Church Institute (Seamens Church Institute Newport) -- they have some pretty reasonably priced rooms, but also might be able to connect you with some boat owners who would be willing rent out their boat to you (maybe?)
