Make, size, type, would help those trying to help you!
Most roller furler spools lift up so you can access the hardware they cover; if the sail is removed.
To remove the headstay;
Loosen the back stay and or the shrouds just enough to create slack in the headstay, allowing you to pull the "pin" Take note how many turns you loosened the turnbuckles so you can go back to the tension you had. To be safe, you want a halyard holding the mast forward just in case the mast wants to fall backwards and ruin your day.
Oday 27, profurl c290. Ive removed the forestay. I need to know how to remove the pin that connects the turnbuckle to the final u shaped bracket that attaches the turnbuckle to the stem.
Thanks - I have the manual - it says to remove the captive pin. The pin has no head on it, no hole for cotter pin. It is solid, and stuck in place like grim death. I need to know how to drive it out, or if there is another way to remove it.
What you have is probably part of the toggle and that pin will not come out. If this is the case, then you will need to get an eye end for the turnbuckle.
John
pics would help.
Relieve the backstay and shrouds and bob stay if you have one!
