Looks like there's an update from Jamaica. Funny you'd mention the bungee cords, it looks like they are still hanging on deck, but just barely!

I noticed that too. The boat always had a lean to port, but that looks pretty extreme. I haven't spoken to the new owner to ask, but it may be the camera angle. The standing rigging is brand new, so there's a chance they were playing with the rig tension.

sevseasail, good catch on the Colombia thing. I can't believe I had never taken time to notice the difference.

Captainmeme, The teak was a few coats of Cetol Light with a coat of gloss. A lot easier than 7 coats of varnish (easy being of critical importance given that brightwork has a life span of just under 37 mintues in Florida).

Looks like they are passing between Haiti and Cuba now.

You can photoshop anything these days, I don't believe it, just the other day was a long thread about how Catalinas self-destruct in saltwater.

Great looking boat and have to admit Cuba looks pretty inviting.
How was the teak finished?

That sounds like a nice trip. It's great these guys didn't listen to some on these forums. (Staying coastal with a Catalina/Hunter/Beneteau).

I see on the tracker they stopped by Turks and Caicos. Can't wait to do my Island Hopping trip.

Thanks for sharing, that's very cool. One day I'll be heading to the same destination.
Do you know if they are taking the boat down there for good? or are they coming back with it?

Creedence623. For the record;..... it's spelled Colombia, not Columbia , that's a different place.

PS - Yeah, pretty cool seeing your boat in Cuba, looks pretty nice there.
Great post!

He hasn't made Columbia just yet. Keep an eye on this thread; when the boat does end up sinking after exposure to BLUE WATER I'll be sure to post an update!!

And believe me, if work wasn't keeping me off the water, you can bet I'd have volunteered to go!
