Re: Lis Jolle anyone know this boat? (pictures inside)

so finally took her out on the water

we had a blast first time sailing and i absolutely love it !!!!

until we flipped

at first I was like ah no biggy we will just flip it back and be sailing in 2 seconds i managed to turn it over no problem but the front cabin had totally flooded with water turns out the trap I was missing was mandatory so the boat doesnt fill up and i thought it was more esthetic than anything so the coast guards came to give a hand and empty out the cabin with their pump and the boat floated once again

so for a first time sailling it was quite an experience but i cant wait to be back on the water !

Re: Lis Jolle anyone know this boat? (pictures inside)

alright well since there isnt much interest in my build I lacked a bit of motivation to take pictures this week end but I got alot done the entire hull is fixed and painted I will be installing the keel and turning the boat over and I will try for the first time to rig it any tips or advice ? I have no Idea how to do this. here are some pics i took

here you can see I fixed the front where it had split and also covered the entire left side with epoxy to fill in all the exposed fiberglass and also fixed the hole in the hull

and here it is painted and looking much better than it did when i first picked it up !

Re: Lis Jolle anyone know this boat? (pictures inside)

so this week end I worked on the keel I have been thinking about how I would fix it for a while now and finally decided to go at it since the weather was bad and couldnt work on the boat outside so where there was wood chunks missing I drilled some holes and place some screws to then poor some resin on the to fill the gaps as for where the mounting point is I did the same thing but I also made an aluminum patch and stainless screws to hold it in place this thing is more solid then it ever was when the fiberglass cured I redrilled my holes and voila !

Re: Lis Jolle anyone know this boat? (pictures inside)

small update did the fiberglass and rebuilt most of the keel area It was missing about 3 inches of fiberglass that had been eaten i guess by rocks from sailing in very shallow areas also fixed the front of the hull I wasnt able to take pictures since it started raining and had to cover everything up in a hurry I will be working on it more this week and hopefully paint the hull this coming week end

Re: Lis Jolle anyone know this boat? (pictures inside)

i just came across your post via google. You can find an active community around LIS - of course - in Germany. There is a lot of infos, tips and other restoration projects, for ex.: Klassenvereinigung e.V. • Thema anzeigen - Vom Angelkutter zurück zum Jollenkreuzer. Google translator will help you with some basics, but its usually no problem to ask questions in English.
As far as i know a handfull of LIS is spread around the globe.

have fun.

Lis Jolle anyone know this boat? (pictures inside)

hello I am new on here and also new to sailing I still havent set my first sail yet. My father restored boats since I was alittle kid and spent all my summers on motor boats we had all kinds of boat but never any sailboats. this year out of luck I came across a sailboat and since I always wanted to own a sailboat and learn this different type of boating which seems much more rewarding I picked up this sailboat that needs ALOT of repairs and I am in the process of redoing it but it seems to be a very uncommon model here it comes from germany the only info I was able to find was in german and didnt help much if anyone on here owns one or knows about them I would love to hear from you.

this is what the boat looks like this is not mine but it is the same model axcept mine is yellow

here are some pictures of my dinghy its in very bad shape right now but at least its complete I will be doing most of the fiberglass this weekend I will be posting pictures as I go

I made this piece of wood to use as some kind of a mold to help me build my fiberglass on there
