Look on the bright side. You work with several pharmaceutical companies, so surely they hooked you up with the good pills! That must be why you've had the "thumbs-up" for 2 weeks now.

Heal well.

I am sorry to see your pain. Maybe we will all think of you as we make a cut. I see you work with a lot of SS. and it can have very sharp burrs. Did I read right and you said it was cutting the top of a plastic water bottle and act many of us do? Because you have posted this someone may think for just enough time to avoid the same fate. Thank You Get well soon Lou 452

Not to down play your nasty wound, but I know of a worse one .Guy I know was cutting aluminum in the bilge with a carbide toothed blade on an angle grinder.Arms length between his legs when it jammed and took on a life of it's own. Apart from making a mess of his gum boots ,it severed tendons in both forearms and a few lesser cuts.

Re: My seaon is screwed GRUESOME IMAGE

Last spring I was going down to work on my boat with my dad who was 82 at the time. He calls me at 5:30 am on a Sunday and says pick up some big band aids on my way over, he took a little fall. I get there and he is sitting in the chair with a bloody towel around his arm. The first thing he says is "I'm not wasting time at the hospital on a Sunday. I'll just keep it wrapped in a towel and we can go down to the boat. I'll get it patched up on Monday!" He lowers the towel and he is cut almost from the wrist to the elbow! He said it took him half an hour to clean up all the blood on the floor.

I take him to the emergency room at 7:00 am. There is one doctor and one nurse. He gets an xray, and electrocardiagram, and I help the doctor stitch him up with 26 stitches, because the nurse is busy with another patient. We're on the road to the boat by 9:00 am! A new record for a hospital visit!

Re: My seaon is screwed GRUESOME IMAGE

You have sympathy and respect. There's a lot of discussion of packaging-related injuries, so, sadly, you're very much not alone.
A gift can leave you in stitches -
from the above: "Eric Kent made it through two tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan with hardly a scratch.
Yet a Marine who took on terrorists and insurgents abroad turned out to be no match in one of the USA's most common domestic smackdowns: man vs. product package."

Product Packaging Injures Thousands Every Year
Ho ho woes: Wrap rage results in lacerations and bad tempers -
From the American Medican Assn. article:
<<"I've worked in the emergency department on Christmas day for six out of the last 10 years. We certainly see lacerations. That's the most common thing. But we also see punctures," said David Ross, DO, an emergency physician at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo. He also is a spokesman for the American College of Emergency Physicians. "That clamshell packaging is absolutely diabolical.">>

And this is why I keep a bottle of superglue in my toolkit.
