Re: columbia 26' new to me

Well, you need a main sail to balance the helm. Yes, you can sail under jib alone, but it moves all the effort to the bow, creating lee helm and a funky driving experience.

I know you're a young'n on a budget, so check out Bacon Sails. They sell new and used sails. Assuming your boat really is a Coronado 27, here's two:

2 used mainsails

SO went sailing today it was awsome. But the thing is with the genoeo it pusshes the bow around sicne i don't have a main sail yet. Me and my dads problem was the bow was getting pushed down wind a lot and couldnt hold a striaght course. I also thing the winds swithing wasn't helping to much i will try again today and try to pull the sail in more and difrrent thing to it stay straight. any help will be apriecated.

I don't see anything that screams "run away". Tidy up that DC wiring, clean up the wood, and it'll be quite nice down in the cabin.

Re: columbia 26' new to me

I had a Coronado 25. It was a solid, tough little boat. I hope your C27 serves you well. Definitely post lots of pics.
