Can anybody tell if if this interior layout has a name?
I was trawling through the classifieds and found a rather novel interior layout that I have not seen before and I wondered if it was an owner modification or a lesser known layout type and if so does it have a name.
I've never seen a layout like this. But I don't inspect many vintage boat interiors.
Judging by the chaulk joint, the unmatched wood grain on the access panel, the stainless steel rail that the stairs mount to and the new piece of trim underneath with chauk, it looks like it was modified. Could have been a traditional quarter berth at one time?
There's water stains on the planking behind the pillow, evidence of a leak? I won't speculate on the stains on the purple sheets.
I don't see much wrong with it as an in-harbour berth, but it would be useless on passage. Head down on one tack and head up one the other, neither of which make for a decent kip.
