Re: Help holes in my boat

Ti, the big unclear question is whether they go all the way through the hull?

I'm guessing they do not, but they were drilled to allow some space inside the hull/liner to drain into the bilge.

Re: Help holes in my boat

Congrats on buying a great boat! (I'm biased)

Look in the bilge. These may be garboard plugs. If so, there are threaded plugs that need to be inserted before launch.

Also, check out and join the listserve.

sea_hunter My guess is that they were drilled to either keep the bilge dry or to drain water from the bilge that had collected. You'll need to fill them and patch the outside of the hull before splashing.

miatapaul How deep do they go? Is that a cored hull? If so you might have some re coreing to do. Before you plug them you need to know why they were put their. Are you still in contact with the former owner?
