Re: Basic Staples ???

Bourbon is not a staple. Bourbon is included in the "alcohol" section of the basic outfitting of the boat, the standard outfitting of the life raft, and the "crew life support" tools lists.
I can live without food when surrounded by people. I cannot live without booze surrounded by people. as the donner party, charlton heston and south american rugby players have shown, people can become food, but it is damn hard to make people into booze.

Re: Basic Staples ???

Indeed. They really work in a pinch, if you doctor them up with veggies, egg. Just bought a case of Mushroom flavored Ramen. Pretty good. Never see that in the store.

Re: Basic Staples ???

I bring hard boiled eggs, instant mashed taters, canned sardines in mustard sauce, and ramen and raw veggies when I want to cook up something quick. Going to stock the bilge with some canned goods.
