Otter, get on the program. Competence was last century, in the 21st century it is discouraged. Pretty effectively.

I have the capability to re rig the whole thing underwater. The scary part is alot of divers are inspecting moorings that dont know how to properly do so.

Around here the only reasons for pulling a mooring js to take it out for good or to re do it. Divers inspect and people on boats winterize and unwinterize then.

Re: Need helping pondering the idea of a job

Well thats the name of the game. Like I said in my previous posts, unless a mooring will potentially be used, they ALL come out. Some of them are 2500 lbs, and when I say all of them im referring to about 300.. The ones I do subsea inspections on are 500 lbs all the way up too 5,000 lbs.

Re: Need helping pondering the idea of a job

really holy sh!t thats a lot of work for wintrizing around here you tie a rope to the chain that is atahted to the mooring ball. diconnect the mooring ball and tie a float to the top of the rope and let the chain fall to the bottom.

Huck, this is one of the things that makes you an appreciated, and even respected member of this community.

You get it.
My father used to say, 'Y'know the difference between 'smart" and "intelligent"? An intelligent man knows what he knows, a smart man knows what he doesn't know."

You're proving to be pretty smart.
A lot of folks come here asking questions, and they aren't looking for new information so much as they are looking for affirmation of whatever dumbass idea they have already latched onto. They don't listen, they hear what they want to hear, they know what they know and don't want to know what they DON'T know.

Which is why we end up with poor jgbrown cursing silicone caulk.

Keep on learning, huck, and keep asking questions and keep coming back. You are a welcome presence here.
