Re: Favorite Boat

I like my Nor'sea 27. Strong, sturdy boat.

If I was to go bigger, I think something like Pacific Seacraft's would be good. (being 6'5", more room would be nice)

Re: Favorite Boat

Besides my contessa this is a boat I find myself looking at from time to time (and saw in Newport). Classic looks (even has a tiller), modern design, Mystery 35:

Re: Favorite Boat

My favorite boat is:
1) Paid for
2) Inexpensive enough that I own it; it doesn't own me
3) One that fits into the back corner of my shop where it can be ignored safely for long peroids.
4) One that is designed to sail, not a cozy camper with a hull stretched around it

Re: Favorite Boat

Smaller boats have always had their appeal - ones with really big cockpits and small cabins.

Give me the simple life -

If I'm on this boat I doubt I will be concerned with where I am going and when I need to get there, just sail and enjoy.

And "If we get lost we'll just pull in somewhere and ask for directions"

Well, I hope you all realize that it takes a fair amount of breeze to get those things rolling under sail... And, it damn well better be blowing in the general direction you want to go... (grin)

Sail Area/Dispacement ratios don't lie, and the real world displacement of such boats is usually grossly underestimated...
