Re: Bringing our new to us to Pasadena!

Not today, we were out yesterday (Sunday). We were out just cruising around when the winds went from 6-7 knots to 30. We decided to come in then since it started to look pretty nasty and it was getting late. I took 4 shots to back my boat in the slip since the wind was blowing down the fairway, the last shot we ended up man handling her into the slip hand over hand style, I was a terribly humbled, thats what I get for bragging about how good I can dock! I guess I have some more practicing to do.

Swamp....were you guys out today off of Rock Creek? We were coming back after a weekend and a day on the Wye River ( Granery Creek) and St Micheals and saw a Catalina 32 " practicing" off of the "Rocks"

Sounds like a plan! We're still getting used to it but while we had it out last weekend we passed quite a few, one boat tried catching us but we pulled away, weather he was serious or not I'm not sure. I was down the hunting property getting things ready yesterday, I have to offloat the truck and trailer of stuff today and then we're heading out on the boat. It's SOOOOO hard for me to get out before noon (Same story with the last boat) for one reason or another! I have even joked about naming it "NOONER"!

Re: Bringing our new to us to Pasadena!

Sorry Ive been pretty absent. We've been on the boat...A LOT! It's GREAT! It sails SO FAST! We brought it up a few Saturdays ago in heading dead into 24-28 knt winds, motored it home to Pasadena. We've been sailing it and it really is a pleasure to sail. I've been fixing things on it that I guess are just the usual gremlins that board a boat when it's left unused. I replaced a bad oil pressure sending unit, reconnected a "Whale" fitting on the fresh water pump that wasn't fully driven home, corrected some electrical things that the installer had incorrect, and replaced the 4D house battery. Interestingly enough the 4D wet cell battery that WM wants around $370 is the EXACT SAME battery as the Deka Commercial 90 4D that I got from East Penn in Rosedale for $205. when it comes time to replace the Starting battery which is also a 4D I'm going to move the Deka to it's place and go with Golfcart batteries for the house, I would have went with the golfcart batteries this time but I want to sail as much as possible before we pull her in November.
