Seattle Learning to Sail & Willing to Crew

I am in the Seattle area, and I am looking for places to learn to sail. What tips can you give a beginner like me in learning? I am more than willing to crew on a boat for a day's cruise-around or a race, so do I just visit the local marina?

I have been dinghy sailing 2 times (both in the last 2 months) and I am currently reading a lot about sailing. My goal is to buy a dinghy by next summer (maybe from Craigslist?) and do some summer sailing on the local lakes before going island-hopping in the San Juans.

If anyone here knows the area and can give specifics, that would be awesome. Otherwise, any general information you can give to a newbie would be appreciated, as well.
