East River

This time of year, there are many vessels heading south through NY/NJ waters, many using the East River. I just wanted to remind folks to check the USCG local notice to Mariners for closures and restrictions on the East River. The UN is in General Session and you may/will encounter closures of the River.. West of Roosevelt Island. The Current LNM is here: page 27

http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/pdf/lnms/lnm01382012.pdf

Notice, that the Western Channel is closed from today Sept 24th to Sept 28th from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. And the entire river is closed tomorrow Sept 25th to all recreational vessels, between 09:45 and 12:30

This has been a public service announcement.. ;-)
