Newbie in Va.

New to sailing and to the site... I have been around the water all my life and watch from my apartment these gorgeous sailboats going up/down the ICW daily, not to mention the weekly sailboat races from the nearby club. I have had a fishing boat, still have the go-fast jet ski but I want to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the water, the winds and everything around me.

We (g/f and I) have acquired a Catalina 25 that we are going to learn to sail on in the lower Chesapeake Bay/Hampton Roads area. Hopefully, we can move up to a larger boat in the future but this will suit us fine now. Any input/help/suggestions/etc are welcomed.......we have yet to get the sails up but that is coming. A sailing friend will help us learn. Have motored a couple times just trying to learn the basic feel of the boat. Again, any input/suggestions etc are welcome.......and if I didn't say it HI!
