Sigh, I need 15 posts to PM someone even though the posting rules say 10. Unclear how to proceed.

Anyhow, if PBZeer sees this, thanks for contacting me on Cruiser's Forum. I'll PM you when I can.

Cheers

You will be listing one way going into the show and the other on your way out.

Most big ticket items are usually offered with a "show price". Dinghies, outboards, life rafts, etc. Others are inconsistent, as Donna says. It's always worth asking, btw.

You may get cold feet and pass on a purchase, then change your mind the following week. You'll often find the vendors will honor the discount anyway, as it's a standard they are willing to accept. Not always.

Big jackpot wad of cash....... That's the best way to attend a show. Fun, fun, fun. Good luck and welcome to SN.

Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. I was just at the Annapolis Sail Show and the items I purchased were the same price as on the web site of the dealer.

On the other hand, some online dealers (such as Defender.com) have sales that run concurrently with the boat shows.

To continue, and earn post number 9 ...

The big stuff is that it needs the cockpit floor and under the main winches recored. The medium stuff is that the wiring is botched, there are 37 year old gate valves, and everything needs to be rebedded. Then all the usual broken stuff one finds crawling around in an old boat.

Next to nothing by way of gear. Needs life ring, flares, and I don't even know offhand what else to even make it legal. I don't think the VHF is even Canada legal, I could not find a compliance sticker.

Been here a while , getting up to 10 posts

Hi:

I have been casually hanging out some months. Now that I have a boat, I might want to make full usage of this site, which I can't do on account of the arbitrary number of posts needed, that is 10. This is number 8!

My wife and I recently purchased an Ontario 32, so would be quite interested in hearing from O32 owners. It is getting trucked to our house next week, whereupon I get to work on it until deemed sufficiently seaworthy to launch, hopefully sooner rather than later.

To get post number 9, I continue next ...
