Re: Trojan SCS225

Thanks, Unfortunately Sam's doesn't sell the Duracell in TX (where the boat is) but I may be able to get it in FL.

Re: Trojan SCS225

Sam's Club Duracell 29HM 105Ah deep cycle. Made by Deka / East Penn same exact battery that is sold by West Marine for less than half the price. It is a Deka group 31 but Sam's calls it a 29HM... About $84.00 each...

The US Battery 31DCXC is also an excellent battery, really on-par with the SCS-225, but for less money. If you can find a US Battery distributor the 31 DCXC is an excellent value.

Trojan SCS225

I need to replace the batteries on my "new to me" cruiser. I am awash in new info/technology. Last cruised so long ago a 7 ton boat with one battery wasn't viewed as particularly unusual.
Current house bank consists of two Trojan SCS225 along with an unidentified starter . I can replace the latter without problems but cost and availability make replacing the trojans' with something else almost essential.

The two golf cart option requires rebuilding I'd rather avoid. The Only suggestion I've had is an interstate 29 which I understand is a "combo" rather than a true deep cycle. Finally, for my purposes the SCS225 are more AH than I would use (by at least a refrig). Recommendations ?
