Re: Endeavour 32 raise boom?

ManiMoana I would love to see a picture of your dodger / bimini set up if you have one. I have pretty well worked out how I'll situate the bimini - it will stop short of the end of the boom but extend aft past the backstay to give some more shade at the back of the cockpit and give me a place to mount a solar panel that will get as little shading as possible. I'm still studying on the dodger size and geometry, though.

Hugosalt - I had thought of cutting an angle at the bottome of the main and I may still go that route when I get new sails.

Re: Endeavour 32 raise boom?

Have a long mainsail/boom on my fractional rigged 30' boat.
Rather than raise boom at mast a few inches when I had my Quantum mainsail made, had it cut at angle
several degrees so aft end would clear bimini.
Don't know if this is a option for your set up.

I'm planning to have the main recut to accomodate the change. Has anyone else out there raised the boom on their boat, and if so any tips on anything else to watch out for?
Is it necessarily? we have and endeavour 32 with a dodger and a bimini and it feets perfectly...

Re: Endeavour 32 raise boom?

I was thinking of adding a bimini to mine, but would stop short of the end of the boom. I figured that would still give me lots of shade at the helm. Your situation sounds somehow different.
