Just a reminder...anyone interested in the (in)famous Sail Round Barbados Race on January 21st. One of the neatest races around: The Mount Gay Rum Round Barbados Race 2013

Full disclosure, I'm with the Cruising Club... but its one heck of a party...

Re: Barbados sailing

Went for an afternoon sail last Saturday, anchored in Payne's Bay, had lunch at Cocunutz! ... and then had a nice sail back to Carlisle Bay with the sun setting on the starboard side... One word.... Epic.

Re: Barbados sailing

Spent 10 days @ my daughter in law's Auntie's home, a 5 minute walk to Rockley beach.
Loved watching NHL games at Bert's Bar but also loved the many rum shacks that we found in our travels. Patricia who runs one of the little rum shacks at Rockley was the best hostess on the island.
The beach near the ruins of Harrismith House was our #2 beach, Bottom Bay was # 1.

Barbados sailing

Hi folks!

Now that I'm based in Barbados, joined the Barbados Cruising Club over a year ago, I have been absorbing all that is Barbados and sailing here on the Island. I've only begun to discover the activities but there are lots!

I will add links and info over time and will try and answer questions or steer you in the right direction, but here are just two of the many upcoming events:

1) Classic Transat. Latest leg leaving Cascais Dec. 2nd and the finish line is in Carlisle Bay, Barbados.

2) The famous Round Barbados Race (January 21st).
