I recently got the word from my wife that I need to buy a bigger boat. I've got a couple of small racing keelboats, but she doesn't race with me and opportunities for daysailing between races are not as frequent as either of us would like. And I kind of like spending time with my wife. So at least one of the race boats is going to go and we'll be getting a nice performance cruiser.
I've made my living as a delivery skipper for decades and as writer as well for a few years. I've logged more than 300,000 miles in those years. I see a few of my articles for Cruising World are posted here, and I'll try to get a recent one I wrote for SAIL on my criteria for a cruising boat posted. This search is being made much easier and more fun by the feedback from posters on the forums.
Like many others, I've lurked on Sailnet for a while and have appreciated the level of expertise I've noticed on these forums. Though I've been sailing for a long time, perhaps the most important thing I've learned is that I don't know much about boats (or anything else, for that matter), but what I do know I'm looking forward to sharing here.
