Re: TackTick and NMEA 2000

You might want to start a new thread. I skipped the NMEA 183 class.

Re: TackTick and NMEA 2000

Nope, it's 0183 version 2.1 output - it does have a high and low speed output but that's it.

Re: TackTick and NMEA 2000

Can't you run the 2150 off NMEA 2000?

There are only 2 ports for 183, both are needed for my SH2150 for DSC and AIS.
AIS is obvious, having a ring and a visible alert for a incoming DSC call is just nice.

Re: TackTick and NMEA 2000

I just did the review search - and the price comparison.

Crossed it off my list.

I'm going to stick with a ST60 wind transducer (part E22078) at 440 ish bucks the aforementioned E85001 network hub/converter at 50 ish bucks and the ST70 displays along with the e7d as the main MFD.

I really can't see the sense in the ST70 wind transducer at 450 bucks because you also have to buy the transducer pod for another 270 bucks and that just adds something else to mount somewhere (and fail sometime).

It's not like the ST70 is super fast/accurate etc..or I can use that extra millisecond of knowing there is a wind shift or puff..

Wireless isn't worth the extra 1000 bucks in price, interference problems etc..

I do wish you luck with it....

Maine - what I hear you saying is I can put a TickTack transducer on the mast, plug the T122 interface to the ActiSense NGW1, hook that to the RayMarine NG network which is interfaced via my e7d.
The benefit here of course is no wires up and down the mast.
Of course the drawback is these units are HORRIBLY UNRELIABLE. You could not pay me to install FREE TackTick stuff on my own boat, let alone actually pay for it..

If you want more detail on why they are not a good choice feel free to PM me...

Re: TackTick and NMEA 2000

That's exactly what I'm trying to do! I have an E7 and X5 on a NMEA 200 network with a triducer. This would complete the system.
